Indianapolis Exchange Club former president, was elected president of the National Exchange Club at the annual convention in Cincinnati, according to word received here today Herold M. Harter. Toledo, 0., was named secretary and R. M. Nitsche. Terre Haute, treasurer. The election of Mr. Beasley makes Indianapolis the only city to have supplied to national presidents. Guy K. CENTENARIAN TO LEAD PARADE IN PITTSBORO FETE Old-Fashioned Vehicles to Be in Procession on Saturday. A parade led by a centenarian and featuring various outmoded vehicles will be a feature of the Pittsboro centennial celebration, which begins tomorrow and continues through Saturday. The parade is scheduled for 11 a. m. Saturday. The guest of honor, William H. Amos, Hillsdale, who will be 100 years old March 23. will ride at the head of the parade, “A Romance of Transportation,” and will attend other festivities of the day. Other features will be President Benjamin Harrison’s famous victoria and the coach formerly owned by Lew’ Wallace, noted soldier, statesman and author. Carroll Stewart, local garage owner, will drive a 1904 model Stutz touring car and Oscar McConaha will have three styles of hedrses in the parade, including a horse-drawn vehicle, one of the early designs of motor hearse and the modem funeral car. Almost every mode of transportation will be exhibited, including the Prairie schooner, ox team, stage coach, buggy, phaeton, high-wheeled bicycle, the pony express and the circuit rider. The old-time pack peddler and the “country doctor” also will be in the parade. Many antiquated farm implements will be shown, including the first tw'o-horse wooden cultivator ever used in the township, an old style reaper furnished by the International Harvester Company, a solid w’ooden wheel wagon, and a one-row corn drill.
