Shown today at the joint meeting of the Indiana Retail Clothiers and Furnishers Association and Indiana Salesmen of Men's Wear in the Claypool is a shirt made of the ragman's carry-all. And so goes the clothiers' convention as it spreads color, novelty, pajamas of "come and see me sometime" hues. In fact the demand for the plaid socks, rainbow pajamas, homespun suitings at the various mercantile exhibits on the eighth floor of the Claypool was so great today that the actual business sessions of the convention had to be postponed until this afternoon to give the clothiers and salesmen a chance to get together on quantities and qualities of merchandise bought. Full of optimists and the reiterated expression, "Times are good and so's business." the convention had its supreme optimist in one hatter who displayed panamas and straws. The convention business sessions opened this afternoon and all exhibits and meetings will end tomorrow. A luncheon in the Riley room featured today's meeting. Dean. Bates to Speak. The Tenth Ward Young People’s Democratic Club will meet tomorrow night at 2155 East New York street. Speakers will be Russell J. Dean and Gerritt Bates.

NOT GUILTY IS PLEA OF MURDER SUSPECT Hardin Denies Charg-e of Slaying Mrs. Eva Culpepper. By United Press MARION, Ind., Sept. 18.—A plea of not guilty was entered in Grant circuit court yesterday by Henry Hardin, 47, when he was arraigned on a first-degree murder indictment charging him with the slaying of Mrs. Eva Culpepper here July 3. Judge O. D. Clawson set trial for Sept. 24. Mrs. Culpepper died as a result of two beatings with a hammer alleged to have been administered by Hardin, with whom she lived.
