NAME MOONEY MISSION DRIVE VICE-CHAIRMAN Selection Is Announced by Mrs. David Ross. Head cf Organization. Naming of William J Mooney Sr. as vice-chairman of the Flower Mission Tuberculosis hospital campaign was announced today by Mrs. David Ross, Flower Mission president As vice-chairman. Mr, Mooney will work with Frank B. Planner, campaign chairman, in raising $54,228 by public solicitation for the erection of a tuberculosis hospital for advanced cases Mr. Mooney has been a member of the Rower Mission advisory board for many years. Mrs. Fred Noerr, district visitor, reported yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Flower Mission board of directors that seventy families are on the visiting list. Mrs. Noerr said she made 116 visits to homes last month and placed 2.619 quarts of milk GRAIN PRICES SOAR, SURVEY DISCLOSES Corn Has Largest Increase; August Average Is 74.9 Cents a Bushel. B 7 7 mi> g Special CHICAGO, Sept. 7.—Substantial increases were registered in gram prices during the past month, especially corn, according to a survey compiled bv Clement. Curtis & Cos. In the last week of August the average of prices paid to farmers of the United States for wheat was 90.9 cents a bushel, compared with 83.6 cents a month ago, 69.6 cents a years ago, and 38.8 cents two years ago. Corn prices averaged 74.9 cents a bushel compared with 63.4 cents a month 47.7 cents a year ago, o- J 27.4 cents two years ago. Oats were 45.7 cents a bushel, against 41.6 cents a Month INDIANA FARMERS’GET MONEY ON CONTRACTS 54,298,637 Received on Corn-Hog Reduction Agreements. Indiana farmers in seventy-one counties have received $4,298,637 on corn-hog reduction contracts, the state agricultural administration headquarters at Purdue university announced today. Benefit payments in the entire country total $133,000,000, and the figure represents one-half of Ihe first installment to be made by the AAA. Contracts are being received in Washington at the rate of more than 100.000 a week, with approximately 660,000 having been received and re- ! leased for payment Aug. 30.
