JEWS VOTE TO INTENSIFY NAZI GOODS BOYCOTT 20.000,000 in U. S. Support Drive, World Parley Is Told. By Unit • 4 Prrte GENEVA. Aug 22.—A formal resolution was in preparation today pledging the World Jewish Conference to continue with redoubled force the boycott against German goods until German Jews had been reinstated In all their rights as German citizens. Dr Samuel Margoshes. New York editor, revealed at the conference that American Jews are organizing a huge "good will” trade fair to oe held in New York this fall, at which goods manufactured throughout the world—except in Germany—will be shown to demonstrate that German Wares no longer are indispensable. "Negotiations already are being conducted with the governments of Italy. Czechoslovakia. Russia and Switzerland." Dr. Margoshes said. The resolution pledging continuance and intensification of the boycott was due for passage late today or tomorrow. Dr. Margoshes said that four million Jews and twenty million persons associated with the American Federation of Labor, the Protestant churches and the Roman Catholic church supported the boycott in the United States alone. German exports to the United States, he said, dropped 42 per cent during the last year. “The boycott against German wares and services will not be given Up.” proclaimed Rabbi Stephen Wise of New York. “It will not be given up until the Hitler regime either shall have ended or shall have cancelled even’ law and practice in violation of human freedom, political equality, and the ideas of civilization."
