JORDAN CONSERVATORY WILL OPEN ON SEPT. 4 Chapel Services. New Women’s Dormitory Are Features. Chapel services, opening of a women's dormitory and a library of choral music will feature the opening of the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music at the fall semester Sept. 4. The services will be held at 1 p. m. each Tuesday afternoon. The women’s dormitory, to be maintained during the 1934-1935 school year, will be located at 1500 North Delaware street. Professor 1). C. Gilley, head of the organ department, has installed a library of choral music. Activities of the school will be broadened. It is affiliated with Butler university. The school’s opening for preparatory students will be on Sept. 4 anil for degree students on Sept. 17-18. CITY BOY IS AWARDED HARVARD FELLOWSHIP former Sbortridgc Honor Student Receives High Honor. Gordon Myron Messing. 17. of 5427 North Delaware street, has been awarded a prize fellowship at Harvard university for entering freshmen of ability and promise. He is one of ten boys from the midwest awarded similar prizes, which carry maximum stipends ol SIOOO for the freshman year and $1,200 each year thereafter. Yoiuig Messing, son of Samuel Mayer Messing, ranked first in his class at Shortndge high school, was an rditor of the school paper, leader of the debating team and winner of a city-wide French contest. 300 BOYS. GIRLS IN WARREN 4-H EVENT Achievement Day Set for Friday at Town>hip School. More than 300 boys and girls wiil participate in the fifth annual Wairen township vocational and 4-H Achievement day Friday at Warren Central high school. The show is sponsored by the vocational. agricultural and home economics departments of the school, the senior and junior 4-H Club leaders and the six parent teacher organizations in the township.
