PLEAS LEAVES COPS' CASE UP TO GOVERNOR Patronage Secretary Turns Back on Cases of Two State Policemen. P’.eas Greenlee. Governor Paul V. McNutt’s patronage secretary, today * washed his hands - ’ of the case of two state policemen dismissed for neglect of duty by A1 G. Feeney, state safety director. Any further action in the case mu t come from the Fovernor, according to Mr. Greenlee. The dismissed policemen are John Hamilton. Sullivan, and Guy Engle. Carbon. They were found guilty by Feeney of neglect of duty in permitting an auto theft suspect to escape. Persons influential in the McNutt administration are reported to have interceded vainly for the men. Hamilton is a political appointee from the district where Paul Fry, state exc.se director, is chairman.

IRATE PARENT’S RIFLE CLOSES DISPUTE ON CAPTURE OF MONKEY IS a I mitrd Prrs HARTFORD. Conn.. July 20. While Hartford officials passed the "buck'' on who was to capture a forty-pound monkey, escaped from a circus, an irate parent whose child had been ; clawed, took a gun down from its | rack and blazed away. Police had asked the Connecticut Humane Society to capture the monkey They declined. A patrolman was assigned. The monkey climbed a tree. The fire department was asked to make the capture. They declined, suggesting the dog warden. The latter pointed out he was not a monkey warden. Meanwhile, the animal clawed a child and her father put an end to the “monkey business.” SCOUTS END CAMP TRIP Youths, With Parents. Enjoy Outing at Barbee Lake.
