United Pre* WASHINGTON, July 6.-The department of justice, continuing its determined offensive against crime, haa added fifty new agents under the additional fund granted by the last congress, Attorney-General Homer 8 Cummings said today. As rapidly as qualified men can be found, it is expected that the force of 450 federal agents will be increased to more than 600 The new men will be sent into the field as soon as they have completed a thorough training period including markmamhip courses in use of machine guns, high-powered rifles and other weapons. A large part of the present force is concentrated in the hunt for desperado John*Dillingcr and h:s remaining fugitive lieutenants. FT. HARRISON CIVILIAN TROOPS HEAR REVEILLE Ft. Harrison Trainees Awake to Early Bugle Call at Camp. Shrill bugle blasts disturbed the deep slumbers of more than a thousand C. M. T. C. trainees at 5:40 this morning and reminded them to prepare for the first drill of the thirty days’ training period at Fort Benjamin Harrison. At 10:30 this morning they marched to the parade grounds to take the oath of allegiance to the United States. The Eleventh infantry band provided the music for the occasion. Most of the citizen soldiers are enrolled in the infantry course. A few of the second and third-year men have been assigned to the signal platoon and to courses in radio theory and practical operation. Thomas Frederick Williams, pastor of Trinity Methodist church here, is the recipient of an honor believed without precedent in the history of Indiana Methodism. July 6.—City council has adopted -a resolution authorizing lease of a 50-kilowatt engine, generator and auxiliary equipment for the municipally owned electric plant. The lease involves expenditure of $52,000. The transaction is in reality a purchase, the lease form of buying being resorted to as a means of avoiding issuance of bonds. Constitutionality of Crawfordsville's new peddlers’ ordinance probably will be passed upon by the Indiana supreme court.
