CEREMONIES TO BE STAGED AT HERE St. Catherine’s Rites Will Observe Twenty-Fifth Year of Parish. Solemn high mass will be offered in St. Catherine's church at 10:30 Sunday in commemoration of the parish's founding twenty-five years ago. Celebrant will be the Rev. Otto C. Bosler, Vincennes, who was the church's first pastor. He will be assisted by the Rev. Thomas Clarke and the Rev. Thomas Carey. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. John Joseph Brogger, O. F. M„ Indianapolis. Children of St. Catherine's school will present the parish history in the form of an entertainment Sunday night. At this program, gifts will be presented to the Rev. James M. Downey, church pastor, who will commemorate the silver jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood next Tuesday by celebration of a solemn high mass at 10. The Rt. Rev. Joseph Elmer Ritter, bishop of the Indianapolis diocese, will attend the dinner for the clergy in connection with the celebration for Father Downey. A large delegation of the priest’s classmates of seminary days at St. Meinrad’s also will attend the dinner. When St. Catherine's parish first was organized the church proved ample for the congregation of 400, to whom Father Bosler came as pastor from St. Patrick’s church, whera he had been assistant priest. Growth of the parish and school made it necessary to augment ministerial and teaching staffs and erect additional buildings. The first assistant, the Rev. Albert V. Deery, came to the church in 1921. The Rev. Joseph A. Duffy, present first assistant, came to St. Catherine’s in 1927. A few' years later the Rev. Albert Walter became second assistant Present figures show a parish of 2.900 and a school attendance of 540, The Sisters of Providence have conducted the school since its founding in 1910. The present rectory and additions to the school were constructed in 1926. RAIL STRIKE IS STUDIED Labor Board Member to Act iif South Bend Dispute.
