HOUSING CHIEF RESIGNS POST AS QUIZOPENS PWA Offical’s Efficency Is Under Probe; Ickes Withholds Judgment. Biz United Press WASHINGTON, June 14.—The resignation of Robert D. Kohn, director of the housing division of the public works administration, was on the desk of Administrator Harold L. Ickes today. It was learned that Mr. Kohn offered his resignation after he had been severely criticised in connection with administration of duties of his division. Mr. Ickes has not accepted the resignation. It was said he would withhold judgment pending conclusion of hearings on proceedure followed by the housing division in approving $19,999,600 in loans for limited dividend housing projects in eight cities. First report is to be received on the Boulevard Gardens housing project, Queens, New York, to which the PWA alloted $3,400,000. Appraisal of lands in this development was cited by Mr. Ickes as considerably in excess of reasonable values. As the Ickes investigation got upder way, the administration housing bill, in the form desired by President Roosevelt, was sent to the senate after passage by the house j>y a 176-to-l& vote. The measure which would inaugurate a nationwide program for renovation of small homes and slum clearance had been changed by the house banking committed. House liberals restored it to its original form. Officials emphasized that no questions had been raised of personal honesty in the Kohn case and that the inquiry centered on efficiency.

Don’t give up!

• a helping hand may be all yon need

IDO NOT want to give up... but why do I tire so easily... why can’t I ‘carry on’... and how is it that I do not feel like myself ? " It may be that as the result of colds... indoor or over work ... worry and the like... the strength of your blood has been weakened <—that is, the red-blood-cells and hemo-globin reduced... and Spring finds you with that “worn-out” and “let-down-feeling.” A deficient blood content is often responsible for many ills—frequently: loss of weight, sleeplessness, skin disorders, skin eruptions, sallow complexion, paleness, loss of appetite, nervousness or lack of clear skin. You just can’t be well, strong, and up and doing when you have “weak” blood—that is, blood with lowered red-cells and a deficient hemo-glo-bin content. Look to your blood if you suspect a tonic is needed. For such cases try that timetested tonic S.S.S.—not just a socalled tonic, but a tonic apecially designed to restore body strength by its action on the blood. You can take S.S.S. along with any other treatment without interference*

15 PWA PAINTINGS ON EXHIBITION AT HERRON Oils by Indiana Artists Prepared for Educational Work. Fifteen oil paintings, the work of Indiana artists during the second period of the PWA art project, are on display in the east gallery of the John Herron institute. The work was done from Dec. 8 to Feb. 15, and pay provided by the government. The pictures were planned for educational work in the schools. Seventeen other pictures will be shown in grade and high schools.

In 1933, after receiving hundreds of voluntary letters attesting the amazing qualities of this oil, the Macmillan Petroleum Corporation assigned a technical crew to run a series of performancetests on 400 cars. The cars were selected at random from new car dealers and used car lots. First, brand new "demonstrators" were used.

Now, in 1934, thoroughly convinced that Ringfree Motor Oil is unlike any other motor oil in America... the Macmillan Petroleum Corporation finds its only problem is to make people believe the sensational story of Ring-free is true. Red Pimples on Face. Was Unable to Sleep. Healed by Cuticura. % "Blackheads began to appear on my nose and chin in large numbers, and pimples broke out on my face and forehead. I began to feel ashamed and hated to go places. The pimples were red and festered and came to a head. They were scattered all over my face and itched causing me to irritate my face by scratching. Many nights I was unable to sleep. “A friend suggested Cuticura Soap and Ointment and I wrote for a free sample.
