Film Indorsers Arrange Annual Fete at Theater Annual Fourth of July program of the Indiana Indorsers of Photoplays will be held from 9 to 11 at the Circle theater with Mrs. C. J. Finch, general chairman. Mrs. David Ross is president. Mrs. Finch announces the following committees: Mrs. Thomas Demmerly, house; Mrs. Bessie Hart, flag formation; Mrs. W. D. Delegates to Federation Council Will Present Reports
Woman’s Department Club members who attended the council of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in Hot Springs, Ark., recently will describe their experiences at a special mid-summer meeting ta 2:30 Monday at the clubhouse. Hostesses for a social hour will be directors of the club. Mesdames Harry E. Watson, John Connor, J. E. Barcus, William C. Bartholomew, J. M Dungan and William D. Hamer. Mrs. R. O. McAlexander, president, has invited all club members, friends and members of federated clubs to attend the meeting. Margaret Elizabeth Walker to Be Bride of Leland Quale Clapp
The Rev. Guy O. Carpenter and Dr. M. B. Hyde will officiate at the marriage ceremony to be read at 3:30 tomorrow at the Irvington M. E. church for Miss Margaret Elizabeth Walker and Leland Quale Clapp, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Clapp. Miss Dorothea Hogle, organist, will play “Venetian Love Song,” “To a Wild Rose,” “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” “Elegie” and the wedding marches, and Miss Margaret Kramer will sing “Beloved,” “I Love You Truly” and “Because.” The bride, to be given in marriage by her father, will wear white satin and lace with a veil falling from a coronet cap and will carry Johanna Hill roses, daisies and delphinium. Her maid of honor, Miss Mary Alice Kitson, South Bend, will wear green organza, and Mrs. Lewis E. Lantz, matron of Jionor, will wear orchid organza. Both will wear wagon wheel hats and carry arm bouquets of roses, delphinium and daisies. Bridesmaids, Misses Delma Vestal, Ima Mae Clapp, Rachael Timmons and Nrs. Parents to Give Betrothal Party for Miss Palmer
Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Palmer will entertain with a dance and buffet supper tonight at their home, 3307 Washington boulevard, to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Alma Frances Palmer, and Harold Eugene Honderich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Honderich. Guests will include Miss Betty McDonald, Muskegon, Mich., and Misses Helen Chapel, Mary Louise Robbins, Wilma Reger, Sally Rankin, Betty Rigley, Clara Glickert, Jean Melett, Martha Louise Boyd, Ann Redwine, Ruth Rich, Wilmetta Warnock, Mary Etta Mclntyre, Phyllis Barnard and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Welcher, and Messrs. Mr. Honderich is a graduate of Purdue university and Miss Palmer studied at the John Herron Art Institute. IN the early summer wedding processionals were several of the season’s most prominent brides. One of the loveliest of the season’s ceremonies was performed this morning at SS. Peter Paul cathedral. when Miss Marjorie Kittle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sloane Kittle, became the bride of Biagio Lapenta, son of Dr. and Mrs. Vincent A. Lapenta. Miss Catherine Frances Jose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar A. Jose Sr., became the bride of Canning Rogers Childs, Pittsburgh, Pa., in a attractive service in McKee chapel of Tabernacle Presbyterian church. In one of the few wedding ceremonies held at the Propylaeum Club, Miss Elizabeth Hurd, daughter of Charles Henry Hurd, became the bride of Robert McMurray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Welcome B. McMurray, last Saturday. Mrs. John H. Stanley, formerly Miss Pauline Becker, chose the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Becker, as the scene for her Wedding last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley will live in Chicago. The Beech Grove M. E. church was the scene of the marriage of Miss Ruth Sue Adams and Burleigh Matthew on June 1. Mrs. Matthew is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Adams. Before her recent marriage Mrs. Hershel Goodman was Miss Eleanor Cohn. The wedding of Miss Marietta Helen McGinley and Michael C. Cain took place at St. Philip Neri church. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Francis Hogan will be at home after June 20 at Anderson. Mrs. Hogan before her marriage at Our Lady of Lourdes church w-as Miss Thelma Clements, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Clements.
WELFARE CLUB TO GIVE GARDEN FETE Mrs. A. E. Wills, 4433 North Pennsylvania street, will be hostess at 2 Monday for a garden party, sponsored by the Welfare Club. Special guests will be residents of the Home for Aged Women and members of the Fayette Club, which holds a sustaining membership in the Welfare Club. BRUNER TO TAKE OHIO BRIDE Mrs. Grant John Herr, Columbus, 0., announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Lucile Herr, and Felix F. Bruner. The wedding will take place June 23 at the Divinity chapel, Capital university, Columbus. Mr. Bruner formerly was editor of The Indianapolis Times and the Youngstown (O.) Telegram. SWIMMING LESSON SCHEDULES GIVEN Kenneth Walker, swimming instructor of Meridian Hills Country Club, has announced time of instruction classes. Children under 12 will be instructed from 9:30 to 10 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and children over 12 from 10:15 to 10:45 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Women will be given lessons from 10:45 to 11:15 on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Swimming teams will practice from 9:30 to 10#30 on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Private instruction will be given by appointment. The entertainment committee has announced plans for special family dinners on Thursdays.
Lawn Fete and Dinner to Close Propylaeum Club Season
Annual lawn fete for members of the Propylaeum Club and their children will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 Wednesday, followed by the annual June dinner, marking the close of the season’s activities. Miss Miller to Sail for Europe June3o, Honored A surprise bon voyage party was given for Miss Julia E. Miller last night by Mrs. E. B. Lamb. Miss Miller will sail June 18 with Mrs. Henry Miller for a three months’ tour of Europe and will visit England, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She will return on the Saturnia making port calls at Sicily, Algiers, Africa; Gibraltar and Lisbon, Portugal. Marine blue was used in the decorations, which included miniature ships and flags.
