CITY MAN SUES FOR BACK PAY i IN NRA ACTION
C!a : ms Truck Firm Forced Him to Work Extra Hours. Supporters of NRA are watching with interest the progress of a suit filed in superior court room one by James Vickrey, 818 East Twentyfirst street, against the Keeshin Motor Express, Inc., of Indianapolis, to recover back pay under the recovery program. A demurrer in the suit was filed in behalf of the trucking concern late yesterday by Howell Ellis, attorney. charging that the court had no jurisdiction in the matter. Mr. Vickrey alleges in his suit that he is owed $391.97 back wages by the trucking company under President Roosevelt’s re-employ-ment agreement and the NRA code for the .trucking industry. In the complaint, filed before Judge John W. Kern, it is alleged that truck drivers employed by the Indianapolis concern were forced to report for work at 7 a. m. and work for about two hours, loading trucks and transferring freight, but that no time was shown on their time cards until they were at the wheels of their trucks, ready to take the road.
