INDIANA’S HOME LOAN SYSTEM IS LAUDEDHIGHLY Capital Officials Urge Plan on Other States; Is Report. A recommendation that the system employed by the Indiana agency of the Home Owners' Loan Corporation be followed generally in other states has been made by HOLC officials in Washington after a study of the details of that system. This was learned today on the return of E. Kirk McKinney, state manager, from Washington where he has been in conference with national officials of the corporation. The state office was opened here Aug. 16. 1933. and the first loan was paid out a week later. The nine months have seen paying out of 13,751 loans, totaling $30,613,689.75. Loans now are being paid out at the j rate of 200 a day and last week saw more than 52.500.000 paid to mortgagees. building and loan associations and banks. The state ranks third in the number of loans closed and has tpe lowest cost per loan. $13.65. This was cause for favorable comment on the part of Washington officials. The opinion was expressed that HOLC ; operations, as carried on here, would i show the government a profit rather than a deficit. I Associated with Mr. McKinney in
