This bold movement, which aroused criticism in NRA quarters, was disclosed as liberal sponsors of the stock market regulation bill planned to go to President Roosevelt with a plea for his support in their attempt to pass a measure with

“teeth” In It, as he has advooated. They want him to take a stand against such propaganda campaigns which are having their effect. Not only is the committee of industrialists using the NRA setup in its drive, but it announced that its members are advising their stockholders. employes and customers cf their opposition to the stock market measure and their desire for liberalization of the securities act. Advocates of a strong bill now are depending upon the house rather than the senate. The house committee will report, probably next week, a modified measure. Yesterday the drafting subcommittee reduced the maximum margin requirements from €0 to 45 per cent, but, retained specific margins in the bill. The senate hill, as it now stands, leaves fixing of margins to the independent commission of three which would be created to administer the act. The house bill retains the federal trade commission as the supervising agency. The final form of the bill will depend upon a conference between the two houses to compromise differences.
