MUSIC CHOSEN FOR ENTHRONING OF NEW BISHOP Liturgical Choir Rehearses Tonight for April 24 Ceremonies. At ES Peter Ind Paul cathedral tonight a liturgical choir of fifteen select voices will rehearse the solemn chants to be sung at the enthroning ceremonies of Bishop Joseph Elmer Ritter. April 24. Elmer Andrew Steffen, diocesan music director, will be in charge of the rehearsal. The mass to be sung at the enthronization will be Pietro A. Yon’s "Missa Solemnis,” scored for a double choir. The Schola Cantorum of the cathedral will be assisted by the Clergy Choir of Indianapolis and male voices from the following churches: St. Philip Neri, Holy Cross, Little Flower, St. Joan of Arc, St. John's, St. Francis De Sales. St. Mary's. St. Patrick's, St. Joseph's and St. Roch's. The 'Missa Solemnis” is based upon the chant of the ‘‘lte Missa Est” and is one of the most brilliant compositions of this noted, living composer. Pietro Yon is honorary organist of St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, and is director and organist of St. Patrick’s cathedral. New York. The ‘Proper of the Mass'* will be sung in the original Gre'ogrian chant by the Clergy' Choir, under the direction of the Rev. Clement Bosler. The Rev. Stephen Thuis, St. Meinrad seminary music professor, will assist the regular cathedral organist. OWNERS SET ELECTION Apartment Association to Elect Officers April 25. DEADLINE SET ON LABOR CODE Employers Must Apply for Copies by Saturday, Hoke Warns. Deadline for employers to apply for copies of labor provisions of codes for their industry is next Saturday, Fred Hoke, state NRA compliance director, announced today.
