LATEST RULINGS NARROW SCOPE OF POORRELIEF Work Limited to Families With Four or More Members. Under new regulations pertaining to relief, the Governor's commission on unemployment relief today announced rigid investigations of all applications for public poor relief funds. Assignment forvork division projects are to be limited to members of families of four or more persons who have no regular cash income and are legal residents of the township in which they live. Only one person in such a family can be assigned to such a job. Families with a small but fairly regular income, even from odd jobs, are not entitled to relief work, but it relief is needed, it must be dirct relief. Rigid Investigation Demanded Families receiving civilian conservation corps allotments may receive direct relief, but not work relief. Only ore member of a family will be nantec to a work division job, but large families may receive direct relief in addition. The work division jobs are not to go to families of three or less members, who will receive direct relief. When families on relief rolls are to be certified for work division jobs, because of one member receiving CWA employment, new investigation should be made before the transfer, if possible, but at least within a week after the transfer. Legal Residence Essential Families without legal residence in the township in which they live are ineligible for wage relief, but may receive direct relief until they are moved back to the township of their legal residence, after arrangements have been made between the two trustees for the removal. Because of the necessity for eliminating from the relief program all families not actually in need of relief, case workers will be directed to make complete investigations, through home visits at least once a month.
