INCUMBENTS TO GET BUCKING OF PARTY LEADER Democratic Office Holders Should Be Unopposed, Says Swaim. Democratic officeholders serving their first terms in major offices should be handed the nomination without strenuous opposition, H Nathan Swaim, Democratic county chairman said yesterday at a meeting of ward chairmen and vicechairmen in the headquarters in the State Life building yesterday. The regular Democratic organization will not encourage any candidate opposing major office incumbents seeking renomination, he asserted. Denny Is Speaker "Our purpose is to make the Republican party an instrument for good government,” George L. Denny, a Republican candidate for mayor, said last night at a meeting at 1621 Nowland avenue. Other speakers were William H. Remy, former prosecutor, and Ralph Spaan, candidate for the Republican nomination for criminal court judge. Dry Party Enters Prohibition party will nominate a complete state ticket at a meeting Wednesday in the Wheeler City Rescue Mission, A. W. Jackman, Attica, will be temporary chairman of the convention. Nominees will be selected at the afternoon session. Each county will be entitled to one delegate with an additional ! delegate for each 100 votes or frac- j tion thereof cast for the Prohibition candidate receiving the highest vote I in 1D32. Edward E. Blake, Chicago, chairman of the national committee, I will speak. A memorial service will ! be held for J. Frank Hanly, former 1 Indiana governor, who was a pioneer prohibition leader. Skating Party Held East Indianapolis Young Democrat Club held a skating party in Tomlinson hall last night, attended by more than 500 persons. Floyd V. Tibbets, club president and a candidate for Center township constable, spoke in behalf of the candidates of James P. Cunningham for Center township assessor, Gar Davis for sheriff and Russell J. Dean for prosecutor. Harrison in Race William Henry Harrison, former i state representative in Marion coun- ' ty, will seek the Republican nom- I ination for prosecuting attorney of j Marion county. Mr. Harrison was the Republican nominee in 1932 for Twelfth district congressional representatvie, but was defeated by Louis Ludlow 7 .
