DEATH CLAIMS CITY RESIDENT 1 OF U YEARS Mrs. Emma C. Shimp Came Here in 1890 From Missouri. Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Catherine Shimp, 86. of 1539 East Washington street, were to be held at 1:30 this afternoon in the Harry W. Moore funeral home. Burial was to be in Memorial Park cemetery. Mrs. Shimp died at her home Tuesday night. She was born in West Virginia, and moved with her family by steamboat and covered wagon to Missouri when she was a small child. She came to Indianapolis shortly i fter 1890. Surviving her are her five children, Miss Florida Shimp, Mrs. William Jackson. Mrs. Mollie Kettering. Mrs. Jessie Schober and Joseph Shimp. all of Indianapolis. City Resident’s Mother Dies Mrs. Elizabeth Akin, mother of W. S. Akin. 321 North Drexel street, died yesterday at her home in Marion. She formerly lived in Bloomington. Surviving are the son, a daugher, Mrs. Rex George, Marion, and the widower, W. B. Akin. Funeral services will be held in Marion tomorrow’ afternoon. Mrs. Anna E. Bortlein Succumbs Funeral services for Mrs. Anna E. 3ortlein, 58, of 1151 Kentucky avenue, will be held at 10 tomorrow in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Inez Thompson, 3536 East Tenth street. Mrs. Bortlein died at her daughter's home Wednesday, after an illness of one year. Surviving her are the widower, John Bortlein; two daughters, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Emma Whittington. both of Indianapolis; tw’o sons, Charles Woods, Indianapolis, and Morris Franklin, Fillmore; a sister, Mrs. Alice Beasley. Indianapolis, and a brother, John McCoy, Fillmore. Woodruff Place Resident Dies Final services for Mrs. loma C. Haldeman, 61. 940 Middle drive, Woodruff place, were to be held at 3 this afternoon in the Harry W. i Moore funeral home. Burial was to i be in Crown Hill cemetery. He died Tuesday in his home, following a long illness.
