MAY FESTIVAL OF MUSIC SET Jordan Conservatory Will Present Programs on Four, Dates. Officials of the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music have announced plans for a May music festival which will include as participants practically all of the 600 pupils enrolled in the institution. The festival will be presented on May 9, 10, 17 and 19, with Max T. Krone, director of the school, in general charge. Donizetti’s famous opera, “Don Pasquale,” will be given on May 9 and 10 in Caleb Mills hall. Two casts will sing the opera. Rehearsals have already begun under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Von Kreisler of Cincinnati, 0., who have been added to the conservatory staff to supervise the production. Students in the dramatic art department will present “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” by William Shakespeare, on the evening of May 17 as the second feature of the festival. Miss Frances Beik, head of the department, will direct the drama. She will be assisted by Miss Harriet Smith, dancing instructor, who is preparing a ballet for the drama. The final feature of the festival will be a program by the conservatory symphony in Caleb Mills hall on May 19. Hugh McGibnev, conductor of the orchestra, will be on the podium. Assisting the orchestra will be the conservatory string quartet, the conservatory woodwind quartet and the conservatory brass quartet. Respective directors of the three quartets w T ill be Thomas Poggiani, Ernest H. Michaels and R Bernard Fitzgerald. This will be the first annual May festival to be presented by the conservatory. Mr. Krone has expressed the hope that the festival will become a traditional event. The entire four-day program will be open to the public.

Six months after winning first honors in a state contest, the typing department of Broad Ripple high school has received a twelve-inch silver loving cup which it should have received last June.
