WASHINGTON IS AWARDED 1936 MINE MEETING Delegates Vote to Hold Next Union Parley at Capital. Th“ last convention of the United Mine Workers of America in Indianapolis disbanded last night and today. In a close vote, the miners decided to hold the 1936 biennial meeting in Washington, the scheduled future home for the organization's international headquarters. Forecast that Indianapolis would lose the convention came earlier in tlie convention, when international officers obtained approval for the removal of international offices to the capital city. Indianapolis, as well as Miami, Fla. and Seattle. Wash., were placed* in nomination for the meeting, but the nations capital won out by a narrow margin. It is estimated that the delegates spent $200,000 during the ten days of sessions in the city. A scale committee report which made a general demand for higher wages and a six-hour day with five-day-work-week was approved by the convention. Wage scales will be settled under NRA at a meeting scheduled Feb. 12. with coal operators and NRA officials in Washington. PROBATE PETERS’ WILL Brother and Sister-in-Law Only Local Heirs to 510,000. An estate valued at about SIOOOO was left by Henry Peters, who died Monday after a long illness. In probate court yesterday, the Fletcher Trust Company qualified as executor of a will. Only local heirs named are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Peters, a brother and sister-in-law, 1621 East Tenth street.

COUNTY SCHOOLS TO BE GRANTED $62,807 Money Derives From State Fund Interest. Marion county school units will receive $62,807 of a total of $577,508 being distributed by state officials to Indiana school units from funds derived from interest on the state school fund, unclaimed license fees and school licenses.
