BANDITS' LOOT S24IN 2 RAIDS

Pair, Driving Stolen Auto, Robs Filling Station in Quick Order. Striking in rapid succession, two bandits driving a stolen automobile fairly last night held up two Ailing station* and escaped with s2*. They ‘robbed Merrill Grider, 29. of l.V>9 Wade street, attendant of the Standard Oil Company station. McCarty street and Madison avenue, of $lO. A short time later Harvey Cunningham, 38. of 1840 East Minnesota street, was robbed of sl4, while on duty at the Standard Oil station at Washington street and Hawthorne lane. Butler to Register for Night High School Feb. 5

Complete Courses Offered With Faculty of Seven in Charge. Bertram Sanders, principal of the Butler university night school, has announced that the second semester of the school will open with registration on Feb. 5. A large number of adults and empioyeu persons who wish to complete their high school education are expected to enroll. Instruction during the second semester will be offered in languages. English, sciences and health, social science. mathematics, shorthand and typing and commercial subjects. Seven faculty members, all of whom hold state teaching certificates. will be in charge. They are Ruth F. Stone. Nell Merrick Thomas. Carl F. Hanske. Ralph O. Minnick. C. R. Clayton, Thelma Tacoma and L. B. Maxwell. The school showed *a 34 per cent increase in enrollment last semester. RECEIVERS NAMEDIOR TERRE HAUTE COMPANY Action* Instituted Against Oil Company for Not Paying Taxes. Superior Judge Joseph R. Williams yesterday named Joseph Sexton, Indianapolis attorney, and Frank Mawley. Terre Haute, receivers for the bulk oil plant operated in Terre Haute by Donn M. Roberts, former Terre Haute mayor. The receivership action was instituted by Attorney-General Philip Lutz, who charged that Mr Roberts owed the state $5,984.44 in unpaid state gasoline taxes. The petition, which also named the Searbordv Security Company as a defendant, sets out that when the state fire marshal padlocked Roberts’ filling stations in Terre Haute after he failed “to clean them up,” Roberts smashed the padlocks and resumed operations.

James T. Hallette was named president to succeed Wilbur B. Shook. Other officers named include Raymond S. Davis and Robert Owen, vice-president; Harold B. Hood, treasurer, and James F.
