DICK GLENDON'S DEATH PLACED UNDER PROBE Medical Examiner Finds End Came Almost Instantly. Bli I nitrrt Print SOUTH CHATHAM, Mass., Dec. 15.—Barnstable county authorities will investigate the shooting of Richard J. Glendon, Columbia university crew coach found dead beside his .12 gauge shotgun on snow covered marshland about a mile and a half from his home here yesterday. Though medical examiner C. W. Keene of Chatham has announced that he will record the case as one of accidental shooting, district attorney William C. Crossley assigned state detective Ernest Bradford of Hvannis to investigate all phases of the tragedy. Bradford was expected here today. About twenty-eight hours after vanishing on a duck-hunting trip, Glendon's body was found in the snow’ near Cockle Cove road by a Chatham policeman, one of more than a hundred police, boy scouts and civilians who had searched all night and through the day. Glendon’s body lay on one side of V fence, and his shotgun lay on the other. Dr. Keene, after viewing the body, said there was nothing inconsistent in a finding that the coach had shot himself accidentally while climbing the fence. One charge from the double-barrelled shotgun entered the lower abdomen, causing almost instant death. LEGGE’S POST FILLED Addis E. McKinstry New Head of International Harvester.
