Art Exhibit Opening Set for Tonight Reception Will Precede ‘Vanishing India’ Display. A reception for members of the Art Association and other guests will be held tonight at the John Herron Art Institute in connection with the opening of an exhibition, ' Vanishing India, ’ oy Hubert Stowitts. Hirth, Bayfield, Wis., announce the marriage of their daughter. Miss Katherine June Hirth, to Joe I. Norris, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Norris, Indianapolis. The ceremony took place Nov. 29 in Chicago. Mr. Norris is engaged in historical research work at the University of Chicago in connection with the .publication of a history of that city.

Card Parties

Committee of Gold Mound Council 445, D. of P„ will hold a luncheon and card party tomorrow at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Cochran, 227 North Delaware street. Hebrew Ladies of the Benevolent Society will hold a card party at 8 tonight at the Beth-el-Zedeck temple. All games will be played. Ladies of St. Philip Neri church will sponsor a card party at 8:30 tonight in the school auditorium with Mrs. Wayne Feav in charge. Lauter Mother's club will hold a card party at 2 tomorrow in the club rooms, 1309 West Market street. Officers and team of Golden Rule lodge 23, L. A. to B. R. will entertain with card and bunco parties tomorrow afternoon and night at Trainmen's hall, 1002’- East Washington street. Dramatic club of Prospect chapter 452. O. E S.. will give a card party Saturday night at the southside Y. W. C. A, 1627 Prospect street. Lodge to Entertain Olive Branch Rebekah lodge will entertain with its annual Christmas party and pageant Saturday night when fruits and jelly will be collected for distribution to the Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg.

Daily Recipe CHOCOLATE TAPIOCA CREAM. 1-3 cup quick - cooking tapioca 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, cut in pieces 1 2 rup sugar 1 r teaspoon salt \ cups milk, scalded 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 teaspoon ranilla 1 egg white, stiffly beaten Add quick-cooking tapioca, chocolate, sugar and salt to milk, and cook in double boiler fifteen minutes, or until tapioca is clear, stirring frequently. Pour small amount of tapioca mixture over egg yolk, stirring vigorously. Return to double boiler and cook until thickened. Remove from fire and add vanilla. Fold a small amount- into egg ■white. Add to remaining tapioca mixture and blend. Chill. Serve in sherbet glasses. Garnish with whipped cream. Serves eight.

Holiday Serving Demonstrated for Home Economic Club

Holiday serving was demonstrated today at the meeting of the Home Economics Club at the home of Mrs. W. J. Marks, 3311 North New Jersey street. Mrs. L. G. Gausepohl, in charge of the program, demonstrated the home grill and a steak platter through the co-operation of the Wagoner Aluminum Company, and L. S. Ayres & Cos. Christmas customs were given in response to roll call. Mrs. Thomas Grinslade arranged this feature. Mrs. Marks was assisted by Mrs. Edward Ferger and Mrs. Herman Rogge. Special events scheduled this year by the club include an election meeting March 28 at the home of Mrs. Marks, and the annual guest day May 23. Hostesses for the concluding meeting will be Mesdames M. C. Lewis, Elbert Storer, J. F. Barnhill, Lawrence Earl and Hugh Carpenter. Edward Ferger, C. P. Benedict, J. G. Wilmoth, Herman Rogge and C. Norwood Hawkins, now has an active membership of sixty-seven and sixteen corresponding members. Membership is limited to persons who have completed Mrs. Marks’ elementary course in cooking, or a year equivalent in a recognized domestic science school. The club is a member of the Seventh District Federation of Clubs. Mrs. Max H. Wall heads the group as president, assisted by Mrs. Owen Smith, vice-president; Mrs. L. R. Sereinsky, recording secretary; Mrs. G. J. Bookwalter, corresponding secretary; Mrs. James P. Tretton, treasurer, and Mrs. E. J. Young, auditor. Mrs. Marks is honorary president and program chairman. Executive committee includes club officers and Mrs. Walter Metzler and Mrs. W. C. Starkey. Christmas Party Set Children’s Sunshine Club of Sunnyside will hold its annual Christmas party Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Columbia Club.
