STATE LEADERS WILL WITNESS TEMPLAR RITE Inspection and Home-Com-ing Scheduled by Raper Commandery. Raper Commandery No. 1. Knights Templar, will hold its annual reunion and home-coming simultaneously with its annual inspection Saturday night in the asylum in the Masonic Temple, North and Illinois streets. Elwood Barnard, in-spector-general of the grand commandery of Indiana, will be the inspecting officer. The event will open with a dinner at 6 at which music will be provided by the commandery choir under the direction of Harold Winslow. The order of the temple will be conferred on a class of candidates at 7:30 with the choir again providing music. Clarence H. Carson will be organist. Arrangements for the evening are in charge of the three chief officers of the organization, J. Lewis Bray, commander; Floyd L. Kresge, generalissimo, and Arno G. Siefker, captain-general. Mr. Bray will act as toastmaster at the banquet and introduce the officers of the Grand Commandery of Indiana, who will be guests of honor. Mr. Titus will be in charge of the gathering, which not only will include Raper and Terre Haute commanderies, but also similar organizations at Clinton, Brazil, Greencastle and Bloomington. Class Work Scheduled The Terre Haute group will hold its annual inspection at this time, and also will confer the order of the temple on a class of candidates. J. FRANK MOORE of Owensville chapter No. 256. Order of Eastern Star, has been active in his subordinate chapter for many years, and now is serving his eighth consecutive term as worthy patron. In the grand chapter he served on the jurisprudence committee during 1930, '3l and ’32. The last year he was appointed grand marshal and in 1933 he was advanced to grand chaplain. He is engaged extensively in farming and sale of real estate, and has a nation-wide acquaintance among stock breeders. Mr. Moore is active in Masonic work, being a thirtysecond degree Mason.

Valley of Indianapolis, will hold its annual convocation Dec. 5, 6 and 7. Fae W. Patrick, thrice potent master of the local consistory, will be toastmaster at a banquet Thursday, Dec. 7. Melvin Maynard Johnson, Boston, Mass., most puissant grand commander of the Thirty-Third Degree Masons of North America, and guest of honor at the convocation, will address the consistory. Gaylord M. Leslie, thirty-third degree Masonic deputy for Indiana, also will officiate during the ritualistic and social activities. John N. Sebrell, Norfolk, Va., illustrious imperial potentate for North America, of the Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, was in Indianapolis today with Mrs. Sebrell on his official visit of inspection to Murat Temple. A full day s activity has been arranged for the honored guests. Clyde E. Titus, junior warden of the grand commandery of Indiana, Knights Templar, will be in charge at a group meeting in Terre Haute tomorrow, where Raper commandery of Indianapolis, of which Mr. Titus is a member, will be in attendance. Commander Johnson and Wife to Be Feted Three Days. Three days of entertainment are being planned for Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Maynard Johnson, Boston, who will be the guests of honor of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, during its annual convocation which will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 5. 6 and 7. Mr. Johnson is most puissant sovereign grand commander of the thirty-third degree Masons of North America. A reception is being for Mrs. Johnson on Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 at the home of Mrs. Alfred M. Glossbrenner, 3210 N. Meridian street. Luncheon Scheduled The thirty-third degree Masons will give a luncheon for Mr. Johnson the same day in the Scottish Rite Cathedral, North and Meridian streets. Other social activities being planned for the distinguished guests from Boston will be announced soon. The visitors will be greeted at the train by two committees. BENEFIT PARTY SERIES IS SET Strayer Post Card Affairs Will Aid Inmates of V. F. W. Home. Frank T. Strayer post No. 1405, Veterans of Foreign Wars, has instituted a series of card parties which will be held every Saturday night at 8:15 in the post quarters at 125 West Market street. Proceeds will go to the V. F. W. home for widows and orphans at Eaton Rapids, Mich. At a recent meeting of the post District Commander Carl Carey installed the new officers *for the coming year. IMPERIAL HEAD OF SHRINE WILL INSPECTMURAT Day of Activity Arranged for John N. Sebrell by City Temple. John N. Sebrell, Norfolk, Va., imperial potentate for North America of the Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic shrine, was to be the honored guest of Murat Temple Shriners today. Mr. Sebrell was to make his official inspection visit to the local Shrine this afternoon. A full day's program of entertainment has been arranged for him and for Mrs. Sebrell, who is accompanying him on his tour. The visitors were to be met by a reception committee on their arrival at 1.3 Q today at the Union station from where they were to be conducted to their headquarters at the Columbia Club. The wives and other ladies of the nobles of the shrine have arranged a card party in honor of Mrs. Sebrell from 2:30 to 5 this afternoon. Parade Scheduled A grand parade of the uniformed bodies of the temple will escort the imperial visitor at 5 to the temple, where he will make his official inspection. Major Harry A- Pell of the gun squad will be in charge of the parade. The feature event of the day will be at 8. when a huge booster meeting will be held in Murat theater to hear Mr. Sebrell's message to the temple. This meeting will be open to all Shriners whether or not they carry the 1633 card. Attendance Urged Edgar Hart, potentate of Murat Temple, announces that he is anxious to have all Shriners attend this function, regardless of whether or not they have been active recently, since the imperial potentate has many announcements of the first importance to make to the order. A number of entertainment features will amuse the gathering. For the first time in a lengthy period Murat Temple on Dec. 8 will hold a ceremonial, plan3 for which will be announced at the meeting tonight. Petitions for this occasion are now being received. New officers for Fountain Square Post No. 1587, Veterans of Foreign Wars, were installed recently by Earl Jones, post department inspector. About 125 baskets of groceries are being issued free every week to families of needy veterans. In the future, the post will meet on Wednesday nights in the new quarters at 1446 Olive street.
