Nov. 24.—Authorities turned their search for members of the Diliinger gang to Chicago today, seeking to trace the handling of two SI,OOO bonds stolen from a Greencastle Gnd.i bank. A Pacine detective, seeking John Diliinger and members of his “terror mob" of escaped Indiana convicts as suspects in the $28,000 holdup of a Racine bank, went to Chicago yesterday with three Indiana state policemen. Search of possible hid°outs in southern Wisconsin, to which officials first believed Diliinger and his companions had fled after the robbery. revealed no trace of the fugitives.

Soviet altitude flier, to the Soviet embassy here, for relay to Commander T. G. W. Settle. It said: “Convey to Settle and Fordney hearty congratulations from their colleagues of the stratosphere and wishes for all further successes.”

SWIFT CONTEST RENEWED; LIST 1932 WINNERS Committee Members Sponsor Essay Competition in High Schools. Announcement of the renewal this year of the Lucius B. Swift .memorial essay contest in Indianapolis high schools was made today by Mrs. J S. Holliday, a member of the contest committee. The contest, memorializing the life of Lucius B Swift, who was one of the city’s outstanding citizens, was inaugurated during the last school year by a group of Mr. Swift’s friends, who believe his life and writings are exceptionally stimulating to sound manhood and citizenship. Winners Announced The committee, composed of Mrs. Holliday. Mrs. Edgar H. Evans, Mrs. T. R. Baker. Mrs. Sue Howell, and Oscar V. Smith, today announced winners in last year’s contest. Prizes were plaques of Mr. Swift, to be placed in the various schools. Winners were: Manual Training high school. Beatrice Waiss, awarded by William Fortune. Arsenal Technical high school. Robert Martin Hyatt, given by board of sanitary commissioners and Albert Baker. Others Given Awards Park school, Sheldon C. Sommers, given by Mrs. Holliday. Broad Ripple high school.
