STATE RENEWS POLLUTION WAR; CALLS 15 CITIES Conferences Set to Study Sewage Disposal Problems. Continuing its drive against stream pollution, the state health board today ordered officials of fifteen cities to appear before the board Wednesday to discuss their itowagp disposal problems. Last week, a similar meeting resulted in health board orders for immediate construction of sewage disposal plants at Ft. Wayne, Muncie. Hartford City, East Chicago and Michigan Chy. Cost was estimated at $7,035,000. to be financed with one-third payment bv the federal public works administration. Cities cited to appear next week Include Gary, Hammond. Hobart and Whiting in Lake county; South Goshen, Elkhart and Mishawaka. which also will be heard as a group; Anderson and Noblesville; Auburn and Garrett, and Kokomo, Newcastle and Bedford, the latter three to be heard separately. Sewage problems and stream pollution will be discussed in all cases except Bedford, where water supply is the problem under consideration Deadline for the federal loans for financing such projects is Dec. 1.
