He saw active service in France during the World war, commanding the 159th brigade of the Eightieth division. His brigade served with the British In the Artois sector north of the Somme during July, and participated in the MeuseArgonne offensive from Sept. 26 to Oct. 9. 1918 General Jamerson was awarded the distinguished service medal for exceptionally meritorious service as regimental commander, 317th infantry. and later as commander of the 159th brigade.

Man Knifed by Loiterers Robert McAfee, 25, of 3015 Station street, was treated at city hospital last night for several cuts which he said were inflicted by three men after he refused to drink with them. McAfee told police he was accosted by the men at Massachusetts ave- ! nue and the railroad elevation.
