RELIEF REPORT FOR YEAR GIVEN GY RED CROSS Clothing and Flour Gifts in State Are Cited at Conference. Distribution of 2 200.000 sacks of flour, 2,700.000 yards of cloth and 1.800,000 ready-made garments to distressed families were among the Red Cross activities in the state during the year. These philanthropies, along with statement that more than 12,000 former service men and their families were cared for during the year by the organization, were announced at the Red Cross conference at the Indianapolis Athletic Club Thursday. The summary of Red Cross activities was presented by William Fortune, Indianapolis chapter chairman. who presided at the meeting. Governor Paul V. McNutt, speaking at the luncheon, told the delegates that he knew of the great contribution to public welfare that the Red Cross had made to the peo-

Moving Day Negro Waives ’Squatters’ Rights’ in Court.
MRS ETHEL LYLE, Negro. 543 West North street, "Jes‘ moved in In May,” she admitted today when she was arraigned in municipal court three before Judge Dewey Myers on charges of trespass. • Ethel was accused by Bert F. Callahan. 1636 North Illinois street, rental agent, with taking possession of the house at the North street address without the formality of obtaining consent or paying rent. This was true. Ethel admitted, but she explained that an acquaintance of hers on Indiana avenue told her “it would be all right.” “Would you like to move before Tuesday or go to the women's prison?” asked Judge Myers. “Judge, I'll move if I have to find a coal shed," promised Ethel, and Judge Myers contined the case to Tuesday.
