MINISTER APPOINTED PROBATION OFFICER Rev. Francis McCabe. Irvington. Gets State Post. Appointment of the Rev. Francis McCabe, rector of- St. Matthews Episcopal church Irvington, to the post of state probation officer was announced today by Governor Paul V. McNutt. The appointee was the unanimous choice of the new state probation commission, a non-paid advisory council. He is expected to resign his pastorate to accept the position. The Rev. Mr. McCabe is a Harvard graduate, served as an A. E. F. chaplain, and took a course in probation work. He has been engaged part time in probation work under Solon C Vial.
