BRIDE FORGIVES TO AID MATE IN FREEDOM FIGHT Forgets Beating to Go to Aid of Husband Held in Jail. Forgiving love of a bride of two months is back of efforts of Mrs. Maxine Earil. 32. to win the freedom of her husband. Hugh Earil. 31, of 631 North Gladstone, held under $5,000 bond on a charge of giving her an unmerciful beaming. Desipte intention of Dr. William E. Arbuckle. coroner, to reopen investigation of the death two years ago of Earli's first wife, and forgetful of her own grievance, the second wife made the rounds Thursday at police headquarters pleading that Earls bond be reduced. Mrs. Earil asked one professional bondsman to be security for Earli's freedom, but he refused. Then she appealed to a detective, telling him that she and Earil had become reconciled and that she wished the bond reduced to a figure which could be met. However, all her efforts failed. Charles J. Karabell, municipal judge pro tem., set the $5,000 bond when Earil and his wife anpfared in court Wednesday and continuance of trial was granted to Sept. 19. Karabell denounced Earil in bitter terms and mentioned the death of the first Mrs Earil and said the bond was set high with a view to keepink Earil a prisoner through fear that he might molest his wife further. The first wife, Mrs. Mollie* Earil. was found dying by Earil when he returned home from his work as a pasta 1 clerk the night of April 21, 1931.

CITY RULING ON EXTENDING BUS LINE DELAYED Move Affecting Pupils in Beech Grove Studied by Works Board. Extension of the Beech Grove bus line to the Cathedral high school at Fourteenth and Meridian streets to children of Catholic faith 14 cents carefare daily was taken under advisement today by the board of public works. The request was opposed by the Indianapolis Street Railway company on the grounds that the South Side Motor Coach Company, operators of the Beech Grove line, paid no city taxes or coach licenses during the past years. The street car company cited the fact that in the year 1923-1933 they paid $214,000 in taxes on a valuation of $8,000,000 in properties. The proposed extension, according to the Sisters of St. Agnes and the Holy Name church of Beech Grove, would enable the Catholic children of Beech Grove to make the oneway trip to the school for 10 cents whereby at the present time the trip costs them 17 cents each way. The proposed extension is from South and East streets north to East and Vermont streets and thence east on Vermont street to Meridian and north on Meridian to Fourteenth and thence return over the same route, and then south to Beech Grove over the present line to the border town.
