TRESTLE FALLS WITH FREIGHT; 2 ARE KILLED Two Others Are Injured When Speeding Train Is Wrecked. But 'fitted I’rt*n TRINIDAD, Trx.. July 8 A speeding Cotton Bolt freight train -"*•010 St. Louis crashed through a ♦restle and fifteen cars plunged into a creek a mile east of here Friday killing two men and injuring two others. Approximately forty men were riding the freight. The dead were Lee Hamilton, 20, of Payne Springs, Tex., and Jim Merrell of Corsicana. Tex. Jack Hamilton, a cousin of young Hamilton, and L. L. Whittick of Springfield, Mo., were injured painfully. Neither was expected to succumb, however. Roller Skater Breaks Arm Agatha Simmons, 7. of 822 West Twenty-eighth street, suffered a fractured left wrist when she fell whlie roller skating Friday near her home. lAstm in Thin! Recently, a friend of mine asked me to accompany him while he purchased a rather expensive make of automobile (I was to have the honor of the first ride). He had talked to the salesman several times, and was ready to buy the car. Thanks to the President, he has been a constant winner in the wheat market during the last three months. We stepped into the sales room. The salesman was at the door, and before my friend even had a chance to state that he was ready to purchase, the salesman said: ‘‘Fred, money’s pretty scarce. I don't see why you want to trade your present car in. We could fix up your old one for about $l5O, and it will be good for another year. ’ My friend thought a minute, asked a few questions, and said: “Go ahead with the repair job.” The thought struck me at the time: How many more sales organizations have men representing them who still are living in the depression era? My advice to business men is raise the gun sights—point them high! Colonel Newcome was a gallant, simple-hearted gentleman in Thackeray's “The Newcomes.” His unworldliness led to the loss of his fortune. We pity the business man who is too unworldly to advertise—the practical means of getting business. Use it economically. Times Want Ads for profit . . . When my brother Johnny said he was troubled with Dyspepsia, he mean’t he was punished at school — because he couldn’t spell it. No matter what reasons you offer for not advertising, in many cases the real reason is—a lack of ambition. The results which hundreds of people, month after month, obtain from The Times Want Ads, proves that you, too, can use them proftably. T. W A. (Times Want Ads) cost only 3 cents a word.
