—Let’s Go Fishing— GOOD FISHING IS IN PROSPECT FOR WEEK-END State Streams Are Clear; Good Catches Made in Lakes. BY LEFTY LEE Time* Staff Writer Fishermen can look forward to some good sport over the week-end unless heavy rains come before Saturday. Mast of the streams are clear and others hit by the rains before the holiday are returning to shape rapidly. Here we give you the official condition of your favorite sport as reported by the game wardens. Warden H. Walker. Laporte—Pine, Stone and the two Fish lakes are in fine shape and some good catches are being made. Warden Havel, Rensselaer—Kankakee river one foot high and dirty at present. Jungle ditch and Iroquis river are normal, and the fishermen are catching all kinds of fish. Beaver creek in Newton county is low and fish are not striking. Warden Perley, Fulton and Pulaski counties —Tippecanoe river will be back to normal by the week-end, after two heavy rains. Some crappie were caught at Lake Manitou on the Fourth. Warden Roth, Lakes Shafer and Freeman—Fishing is good at both lakes and at the Oakdale and Norway dams. F. O. Winterroud of Indianapolis caught two black bass at the Oakdale dam on the Fourth, weighing three and three-quarters and three and one-half pounds. Warden Noah Eaton, Warsaw’— Two heavy rains early in the week ruined the lakes and streams in Kosciusko county, very strong east wind, bass were biting good until the rains. Wardens Barnett and Anderson, Rome City—Six thousand anglers on Adams and Long Lakes on the Fourth. Lakes and streams in Noble and La Grange counties in fine shape. Fish not biting as good as last week, but several good catches have been made. Elkhart river fishing is good, particularly at Duke’s bridge. Warden Menzenberger, Steuben County—Fishing poor. Warden Marrs, Whitley and Allen Counties—Blue gill taken are full of eggs. Belief is that hot weather has driven them to deep water, where they are spawning, Crappie are biting good on minnows. Bass fishing is also good, casters using artificial bait, a bucktail with pork rind, proving verv effective. Warden Meridith, Fountain, Parke and Vermillion Counties Pine, Shawnee. Coal, and Sugar creek clear, but very low’. Fishing very poor. Wabash river is low and cle^r. Warden Marksbury, Wayne, Randolph, and Henry Counties— Streams are cloudy, but they will be in good shape for the week-end. several nice catches of bass were reported from Greensfork and Martindale creeks in Wayne county. Warden McCashland. Union, Franklin and Fayette Counties—All streams low and muddy from recent rains. The large creeks should be cleared up for the week-end. In the two forks and main branch of Whte river, the water is clearing slowly, and should be ready in about a week. Catfish and carp are biting fine in this stream. Some pood catches of bass and bluegill were made at Nolan's fork, Fayette, Salt and Pipe creeks.

July 7.—Efforts to graft a mangled finger on to the hand of 1-year-old Ronald Hiers are being made by surgeons at Dukes Memorial hospital here. The finger was cut off when caught in the door of an automobile.
