DELEGATES TO LONDON READY TO SAIL TODAY U. S. Group Will Bargain With Other Powers for Trade Revival. BY FREDERICK A. STORM United Prmt Staff (orrunondent WASHINGTON, May 31.—Armed with detailed instructions from j President Roosevelt, America's representatives set out today for the London economic conference, where i they wall bargain with other world i powers for international agreements j to faster trade revival. Five of the six official American i delegates, accompanied by a retinue j of experts and advisers, left for New York by special train this j morning and were to sail in mid- I afternoon on the liner President : Roosevelt. The sixth delegate, James M. Couzens, multimillionaire, formet partner of Henry Ford, and independent Republican senator from Michigan, will sail next week, reaching London just before the conference opens on June 12. Only Republican on the delegation, Couzens Tuesday accepted Mr. Roosevelt's last-minute invitation. Other Delegates Named Also appointed Tuesday was Ralph W. Morrison, retired banker of San Antonio, Tex. The other delegates are State Secretary Cordell Hull, chairman; former Governor James M. Cox of Ohio, vicechairman; Senator Key Pittman of Nevada, chairman of the senate foreign relations committee, and Representative Samuel D. Mcßeynolds, chairman of the house foreign relations committee. William C. Bullit, assistant to the secretary of state, whase conference in European capitals before President Roosevelt’s inauguration caused much speculation was named by the White House as executive officer of the delegation. M’NUTT TO GO ON AIR MONDAY Governor to Make Appeal for Repeal in Talk Over Radio. Governor Paul V. Mc-Nutt, who believes that the Democratic party, both nationally and in the state, is committed to repeal of the eighteenth amendment, will broadcast on the subject next Monday night, he indicated today. His declaration for repeal is in sharp contrast to the secretive efforts, if any, being made by the state committee under Chairman R, Earl Peters, it was pointed out. The election is Tuesday and thus far the state committee has refused to make any strong declaration regarding the platform stano of the Democratic party. Peters last week attempted to explain it by saying that his organization is working with the Republicans to put across the repeal and keep it nonpartisan. But that the G. O. P. is m any such lineup was denied today by Harry Fenton, veteran secretary of the Republican state committee. Governor McNutt took an early stand for repeal and it since has been advocated by Hie national administration. Some observers assert that personal politics has entered into the state committee's failure to take a strong stand. 1.642 TO BE RECRUITED City’s Forest Army Quota on •Fourth Call’ to Be 352.
