CIVIC LEADERS SPUR CAMPAIGN FOR NEW BANK Drive for Common Stock Sale Is Continued: Radio Speeches Made. Drive to assist in organization of the new American National bank, through sale of common stock, was continued today by a group of volunteer civic workers, under direction of Louis J. Borinstein, Chamber of Commerce president. Borinstein. who spoke over radio station WFBM Monday night on the bank reorganization plan, was to speak over the same station between 7:15 and 7:30 p. m. Wednesday. He has been asked to address the Indianapolis Real Estate Board Thursday at the Washington. In his radio plea Monday night, Borinstein explained requirements of the government for formation of ' the new bank to take over assets of the Fletcher American National bank. ‘‘The organization plan makes possible immediate release of 50 per cent of the deposits of the old bank,” he said, “and offers the best possible prospects for paying the entire remainder to depositors, as quickly as orderly liquidation of loans can take place without serious damage to the business firms which have made such loans. “It brings the federal government in as a partner of the citizens of Indianapolis in the new bank. “It assures a sound new bank, fully equipped and prepared to help Indianapolis step forward in the general business imrovement into which the nation seems entering.”
