NUTRITION CAMP FOR CHILDREN TO OPEN SOON Plans Are Made by County Tuberculosis Group at Meeting. Plans for the opening of the nutrition ramp for sick children, operated each summer near Bridgeport by the Marion County Tuberculosis Association, were made Thursday at the monthly meeting of the board of directors of the organization. Miss Flora A. Dutcher, educational secretary of the association, reported gains in weight of more than five pounds for boys and three pounds for girls, as a result of attendance at the nutrition camp Last year. Health rules inaugurated at the 1 camp were continued through the school year, according to Miss Dutcher, resulting in notable improvements in school attendance during the winter. Reports on health classes in local ' parochial schools were made by Miss Louise Dumas, who also discussed experimental health diets. Mrs. Alexander Jameson, secre- I tary to the nutrition camp commitpiaas for the camp this year. Attending the meeting were Edward W. Harris, president; Dr. E. M. Amos, vice-president; Mrs. Henry H. Methods of the association used to -turn public attention to the necessity of periodical health checkups were presented by Miss Mary A. Meyers, executive secretary of the association. ■WORKING WIVES' ARE FLAILED BY CIVIC CLUB “Ope of Greatest Evils of Time,’ Says Group's Resolution. Employment of married women is decried as "one of the greatest evils of .pur time," in a resolution adopted Thursday night by the South Meridian Street Civic Club. The resolution does not apply to widows or women whose husbands j are incapable of earning a liveli- 1 hoCd, club members said. Copies of it have been sent to President Roosevelt, Governor Paul I V. McNutt, Mayor Reginald H. Sul- i livan, the Chamber of Commerce and the school board. The resolution requests these officials and organizations to “look into this great evil and lend a helping hand to overcoming it, so that we agan can place our unemployed people in employment.” Seniors to Give Comedy “The New Co-ed,” a comedy, will be presented tonight at 8 by the seniors of Crispus Attucks high school, in the audtorium, under the direction of Miss Vivian Terry.
