MARBLE STARS START TOURNEY PLAY SATURDAY Garfield and Fall Creek to Be Scenes of Opening Mibs Battles. The zero hour is here. Marble shooters of the city who live in the vicinities of Garfield park and Fall Creek boulevard and Thirtieth street anxiously await 9:30 Saturday morning, when the first two sectional tournaments will get under ■way in the city-wide 1933 Indianapolis Times marbles championship. From now on until mid-June, when the finals will be held here, sectional tournaments will be conducted m every section of the city, such as at Riverside. Rhodius, Ellenberger, Riley, Brookside and all other parks and some individual play spots, so that every marble shooter in the city may have a chance to compete. To the wanner goes a free trip to the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago, w'hore the western divisional games of the national marble tournament will be held June 26-29. inclusive. All expenses will be paid and a chaperon provided. floes East by Plane Expert guides will show the marble shooters through the exposition and take them on pleasure trips when they are not shooting "mibs. Then to the winner of the western divisional games will go even a greater treat and this may be the Indianapolis champion. Immediately after the western winner is determined on Thursday, June 29, a hurried trip will be made to the airport at Chicago and a transport plane will fly the champion to Ocean City, N. J., where the eastern divisional games w’ill have been in prosms at the same time as the western games. The two w inners will meet, on Friday, June 3ft, for the national title. Watch The Times daily from now' on to learn to which sectional the school you attend is assigned. This week marble shooters who attend schools Nos. 29, 32, 36, 45, 66. and 76 are assigned to compete in the sectional at Fall Creek courts, located just across the boulevard from school 76.

Play at Garfield Down at Garfield, shooters who attend schools Nos. 18, 20, 22, 31, 34, 35, 61 and 72, alone with pupils who attend St. Roch's Sacred Heart, St. Catherine's, Holy Name of Beech Grove, and St. Patricks Catholic schools and Emmaus and St. Paul's Lutheran schools will compete at Garfield. There is no entry fee. The Times j furnishes the marbles and the game is ringer. Every boy and girl knows Ihat game. Be there on time and do your best, because the play is by elimination. At Fall Creek the games will be in charge of Wally Middlesworth, city recreation director! Don Bauermeister, Lawrence Feeney, and Bob Goodwin of the recreation department at Garfield games will be in charge of Sergts.
