. DEATH CLAIMS COUNTY HEALTH ' COMMISSIONER Dr. Fred W. Mayer Taken After Illness of Nearly Five Months. ✓ Last riles were being arranged today for Dr. Fred W. Mayer, 3845 North Pennsylvania street, Marion county health commissioner, who died at St. Vincent's hospital Wednesday night after an illness of nearly five months. He was taken to the hospital two weeks ago. Dr. Mayer tame to Indianapolis from his birthplace, Blaine, Wis., to obtain his medical education. After being graduated from Indiana medical college in 1907, he served .hi interneship at the city dispensary and city hospital, opening an offic3 in 1909. He was married to Miss Margaret Welch, Ir.dianaopiis, in 1911. He served in the army during the World war. During his six years’ service as j county health commissioner, Dr. Mayer installed the Marion county dental inspection service and also arranged baby clinics to educate mothers in feeding and care of undernourished infants. He served as a member of the city plan commission under the Duvall administration. He w ; as a member of Center lodge 23, F. & A. M.; the Scottish Rite, the Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters. Columbia Club and Indiana Medical Society. Surviving, besides the widow, are n son. Harry F. Mayer, a Purdue university student; two brothres, Dr. Harry G. Mayer, Indianapolis, and J. E. Mayer, Boyceville, Wis,, and four sisters, Mrs. C. A. Rodebaugh, Indianapolis; Mrs. Val Follmer, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. E. E. Gadd, Des Moines, la., and Mrs. A. J. Jedney, Waukesha, Wis. Mrs. Dnisilla Thompson Dips. Following an illness of a year, Mrs. '’"Drusilla J. Thompson, 72, a resident of Indianapolis thirty-six years, diea Wednesday in her home, 1525 Prospect street. Funeral services will be held at 2 Friday in the St. Mark's English Lutheran church, Linden and Prosi- pect streets, of which she was a i, member. Burial will be in Edinr burg. Peg Hamilton Riles Held. Last rites for James H. (Peg) Hamilton, 63, of 107 West Merrill street, veteran hack driver, who died Monday after an illness of iwo weeks, were held Wednesday in the Finn Brothers undertaking establishment. 1639 North Meridian t street. Burial was in Floral Park cemetery. Enters Practice of Law Clarence B. Ullum, former inheritance tax appraiser and special representative of the tsaie tax ‘ board, has entered the practice of law as a member of the firm of Neal, Williams & Ullum, 603 Continental Bank building, it was announced today.
