LOVE AFFAIR IS LINKED TO BRUTAL CRIME ‘Other Woman' Is Sought in Fiendish Slaying of Ellen Evans. (Continued from Page One) disclose the amount, nor the beneficiary. Meanwhile, Coroner W. E. Arbuckle is attempting to reconstruct the killing. The coroner said analysis by Dr. R. N. Barger, toxicologist at Indiana university school of medicine, reveals red smears and flakes found in the Congress avenue home bathroom to be blood. Belief that Evans killed his wife, drained her body in the bathtub and dismembered it there, and burned her clothing in the furnace, is bolstered by the statement obtained from Mrs. Charles Behrman, 918 West Thirty-first street. Mrs. Behrman called at the Evans home about 8 Friday night to discuss rental of one of Evans' houses. She said he appeared nervous almost to the point of collapse, and that his hands were black, as if they were sooty. There was a “sweet, sickening odor’’ in the house, Mrs. Behrman said. Handle of the razor with which Evans slashed himself to death as he fought with three Cincinnati police officers, has been found in the Evans home. The killer was halted in Cincinnati on an inquiry about his 1932 license plates, and the dis- j mernbered body found in the rear seat of the car.
