1.000 FEET IN AIR. FLIER IS SLAIN BY PUPIL i Crazezd Youth Lands Plane, Then Ends Own Life With Bullet. (Continued from Page One) * "I and then fall dead, a bullet through 1 his head. They heard the pistol report, they said, and later found the weapon beside the dead youth. Rushing to the wrecked plane, they found Nelson dead, shot through the back of the head. Apparently he had no intimation of his impending death, no chance for a desperate struggle with his slayer. A secret board of inquiry, composed of county authorities, met soon ; after the killings. Another meeting was to be held today. Investigators puzzled whether McCall had a secret hate for his j instructor and chose to kill him high up in the plane. They learned that the young man’s mind might have been weakened by disease, and that when he killed the instructor and himself he might have been in the grip of insanity. Another angle was why the plane had gone for nearly three miles after Nelson apparently had been killed.
