All defendants arrested provided bond and were finger-printed bv Matt Humble, Marion police identification expert. Two defendants not arrested were believed to be out of the city. Edwards, now 31, was the youngest mayor in the state when elected in 1329. He has spent his entire life in Marion, operating a grocery from 1917 to 1924, and a general insurance agency from then until he assumed office. About ten years ago he engaged in amateur boxing as a bantamweight. He has had a turbulent career as mayor, engaging in frequent tilts with his city officials. He sought the nomination for supreme and appellate courts reporter at the last state Democratic convention, but was unsuccessful. OLD SOLDIER IS DEAD John Jones, Civil War Veteran, Will Be Buried Saturday. Following an illness of three weeks, John Jones, 8(1, a veteran of the Civil war. died Thursday in his home, 3625 West Michigan street. Mr. Jones came to Indiana with his family when he was a small boy and, after the Civil war broke out, enlisted in Company K. Indiana volunteers, and served tnroughout the war. Funeral services will be held in the Royster & Askin funeral home, 1902 North Meridian street, at 2 Saturday. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery.

Department Store Movie Opens Today at Circle INJECTING a colorful punch of human interest into what ordinarily might be considered the unappealing background cf a great, modem supercfficiency managed department store. "Employees’ Entrance" film, which opens today at the Circle theater, tells a story that is very dramatic. Primarily the story is an elaborate character study, graphically illustrating what happens to those who come in a business or social way. At the same time it permits full play of all the old interest-inspiring ingredientsdrama, romance, thrills and tragedy. Personified by Anderson, the story is a picture of straight-from-the-

shoulder business efficiency. Because an old employee can not keep the pace, he is fired and it doesn't matter to Anderson that Higgins jumps from a window, nor that Anderson ruined a small manufacturer, nor that he brought a newspaper to the verge of bankruptcy. Always cocksure, Anderson makes his business- his god. Women he considers only for his moments of relaxation. Thus as the audience alone sees romance grow between Madaiine and Martin, a protege whom he is training to follow in his footsteps, he impresses on the boy that women are only loadstones and that marriage will wreck any career.
