BOUNDARY WAR VOTE IS FACING STATE SENATOR Perry-Decatur Bill to Be Pushed for Passage by Webb. Efforts to pass the senate bill deciding boundaries of Decatur and j Perry townships were to be passed ! today, according to John Bright ( Webb iDem., Indianapolis). "Those of us interested in seeing justice done to Perry township in this dispute over boundary lines have every reason to believe we shall pass the measure in the senate," said Webb. Difference in tax assessments on the power plant of the Indianapo-j lis Power and Light Company, i which Perry township claims is in its territory, has brought the boun- j dary dispute to the attention of the assembly. 542,04)0 Is Difference Robert Sloan, county assessor, said that Perry township claims an assessment of $5,000,000 would not be too high. At the present time the plant is ' assessed on a valuation of only $1,500,000. Allowing for difference in tax rates in the two townships, the company would pay an additional $42,000 in taxes if the assessed value of $5,000,000 is valued by Perry township, Sloan estimated. Senate vote on the boundary i measure is expected yet this week, j Bar Bill Defeated Amendments to the state Constitution would be made easier under terms of a resolution advanced in the senate to third reading Monday. Instead of requiring a majority of all votes cast at an election to carry an amendment, this new plan, if adopted, will require only a majority of all votes cast on the amendment itself. Plan for establishment of a judicial council to help remedy court | procedure was killed late Monday. I Indiana Bar Association backed the j measure. It was defeated on con- j tention that it would be "another I tax-eating commission.’ ANNOUNCEMENTS l D'.atb Notices BLANCHARD.
