Gene and Glenn Will Open Engagement Here Friday' Noted Radio Team Will Present "Jake and Lena” to Their Friends on the Indiana Stage for a Week. AND GLENN, one of radio's most popular teams together with J Jake and Lena, will feature the stage show at the Indiana theater, starting Friday. Claudette Colbert and Fredric March are co-starred in “Tonight Is Ours" the screen attraction. This marks the first appearance of March on the screen since he won the award of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences for the best performance of 1932. Gene and Glenn have become two of America’s foremost radio entertainers by their broadcasts over stations WLW and WTAM. They
entertain as a singing team and are assisted by Jake and Lena, two comedy characters Interpreted by Gene. Glenn is the piano player of the team and acts as a foil for the comedy antics of Jake and Lena. Their stage program is similar to their radio broadcasts and Jake, as an added attraction, is performing several magical illusions he has been practicing. In “Tonight Is Ours." March and Miss Colbert are assisted by a supporting cast headed by Alison Skipworth of “Madame Racketeer,” “Night After Night” and “If I Had a Million” fame. It also includes Arthur Byron and Paul Cavanaugh. The picture was adapted from Noel Coward's play and was directed by Stuart Walker for Paramount. Miss Colbert is cast as a girl who has thrown aside the responsibilities of a kingdom for a fling at Paris, and March, as a young, wealthy
1 Parisian who insists on taking the fling with her. Together they race gayly through the French capital, fully enjoying the pleasures of the town, but more fully enjoying each other. A strange trick of fate leads up to a surprising, dramatic climax. BUB Indianapolis theaters today offer: Raynor Lehr on the stage and They Call It Sin” on the screen at the Lyric, Blackstone on the stage and “Lawyer Man” on the screen at the Indiana. "The Animal Kingdom” at the Apollo, “Cynara” at the Palace, and ‘Frisco Jenny” at the Circle. Campus Housing Problems Up Campus housing problems will be discussed by Dr. Walter Scott Athearn, Butler university president, tonight at a meeting of fraternity and alumni chapter presidents and advisers and faculty counselors.

TWO LIBERALS WILL PROD FOR TARIFF CHANGE
Costigan and Friend in House Doing Most o f Advance Work.
By Scrippu-Ifnicnni Sctcgpaper Alliance WASHINGTON, Jan. 19.—A1l ol the advance work on the Democratic tariff program—if there is such a thing as a Democratic tariff program—is being done by Senator Edward P. Costigan <Dem., Colo.) and Representative David J. Lewis (Dem., Md.). At least that is true so far as any outward signs of activity can be observed. Most of the other Democrats in congress shudder at talk of reviving the tariff fight, act as

though they would like to forget campaign promises. The SmootHawley law is iniquitous, to be sure, but why lift the lid of “Pandora's box?” But to Senator Costigan am Representative Lew's the tariff if realistic problem, not to be shurn' . aside by idle talk. These two friends served eight years together as members of the United States tariff commission. Both were appointed by President Wilson. Both quit the commission in the Coolidge administraiton. Costigan resigned, charging that the commission was being used as a political tool by the Republicans. Lewis refused reappointment when Presi- ! dent Coolidge asked him to leave at the White House an undated letter of resignation. The Coloradoan and the Marylander. perhaps the outstanding Democratic liberals of the respeci tive branches of congress, think alike on tariff matters. They both believe that economic recovery of the nation and the
