AUTO MISHAP FATALsTOLL IS 73 FOR YEAR Youth Dies of Severed Jugular Vein Suffered in Accident. A severed jugular vpin incurred when he waa hurled through the windshield of an auto Sunday in an accident on Bluff road, nine miles south of the city, caused death at city hospital. Wednesday, —of Dennis W. Hunter, 18, of 3929 English aveJ O nue. / His death raised the Marion county traffic toll for the year to 73. Hunter was a passenger in a car driven by Conrad Hopper, 20, of 3748 English avenue, when it crashed head-on into a second car, driver of which escaped from the scene. Hopper was arrested on a charge of reckless driving. Hunter had attended Technical high school until two years ago. when he joined his father in the grocery business at the English .avenue addrpss, He was a member of the Englewood Christian church. Survivors are the parents. Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Hunter, and a brother Robert Hunter. Funeral services will be held at 2 Friday afternoon at the Bert S. Gadd funeral establishment, 2130 Prospect street. Burial will bo in Memorial Park cemetery. When a taxi in which he was riding collided with a city street cleaning truck early today at North and West, street, James Butler, 67. Negro, living near Douglas and Michigan streets, incurred a broken left leg and lacerations on the head. Richard Tweddell, 30. of 2322 Guilford avenue, driver of the cab. was arrested on an assault and battery charge. .YOUTH HURT IN CRASH Rochester Boy Injured When Truck Overturns Here. Paul Hoover, 16. Rochester. Ind.. incurred a cut on the forehead and a leg injury Wednesday when a truck on which he was riding was overturned at College avenue and Seventieth street when struck by an automobile driven by Marion Willrick, fireman at engine house 32. The truck was driven by Clyde Kelly, 426 North Alabama street. Besides the Hoover youth. Kelly's brother Louis, 17, was on the truck. Hoover and young Kelly hitchhiked to Indianapolis a few days ago to visit Claude Kelly.
