GRAIN FUTURES SELL DOWN IN SLOWJESSION Easiness in Securities and Cotton Factors in Slump. BY HAROLD E. RAINVILLE United Press Staff Correspondent CHICAGO, Aug. 27.—Lacking the snap of recent sessions, wheat slid down around a cent on the Board of Trade Friday, but recovered most factors, but most trades were watchof the loss near the close when commission houses absorbed the surplus in the pit on the break. Easiness in stocks and cotton were ing Washington closely, expecting important business news to eminate from President Hoover's conference. Com showed resistance and held around steady, most of the day, keeping oats and rye near the previous close. Close Is Lowest At the close wheat was % to % cent lower, corn was % cent lower to cent higher, oats unchanged to % cent lower and rye 1 s cent higher. Provisions were easy with stocks and grains. Liverpool turned somewhat irregular and finished unchanged to % cent lower. Trading was exceedingly quiet early with no desire for aggressive action shown pending the movement of the spring wheat in Canada and the American northwest. Cash prices were unchanged. Receipts were 17 cars. Com Tone Firm Corn maintained a fair degree of strength despite the easing in wheat standing unchanged to % cent higher at mid-session. The large receipts were not depressing as they were mostly on contracts made previously. New crop reports are favorable. Cash prices were V*. cent lower. Receipts were 364 cars.
