CIRCUS COMING; ADJECTIVES ARE BIGGERJETTER Ringling’s Greatest of All Will Show Here on July 21. The press agent announces: The circus posters are going up! They’re headed this way—the elephants, the clowns, the beautiful horses, the bands, the wild animals. “those strrrrrange people” and the spangled legions of the big tops! The sides of buildings and barns, otherwise sedate and drab, sprang to life today in a pictorial symphony of charging beasts of the jungles, death-defying acrobats and grinning clowns, as half a hundred lithographers and bannermen hung tons of posters from the No. 1 advertising car of Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus, which will exhibit in Indianapolis Thursday, July 21. “The greatest show on earth" this season throws a double-barreled challenge to “Old Man Depression” with the biggest circus the world ever has seen, including an enlarged herd of fifty and a glorious galaxy of imported fbreign marvels to eclipse all previous triumphs. Other Stars Listed From Russia comes Miss Tamara. Europe’s latest device for making Americans hold their breath. This dainty foreign aerialist augments an imposing array of talent, which includes the inimitable Flying Codonas, Lucita Leers, supreme aerial gymnast: the Wallendas, in hazardous high-wire exploits at the dome of the main tent; Albert Powell, flying aerial contortionist; the Concellos and the Harolds, sensational artists of the flying trapeze. Anew tribe of monster-mouthed “duck-billed” Übangi savages from the jungles of central Africa will be seen in the main performance. An amazing importation is Bombayo. the man from India, mysterious new circus thriller. Other stars of the 1932 spangled firmament include the Rieffenach troupe, heading the new five-con-tinent congress of bareback riding celebrities; the Canestrellis, Italian ladder marvels; Madcap Dorothy Herbert, daring equestrienne and hurricane hurdler; the Rubio sisters, Danwillis and Yacopis, in astounding acrobatic feats; the Hugony sisters and Maximo, comedian of the slack wire. Hugo Zacchini, human projectile, will be shot from the mouth of a monster cannon in longer and more terrific flights. Clowns—loo of ’Em Woven into this kaleidoscopic whirl of color and action is a barrage of comedy presented by 100 clowns of all nations. A herd of the tallest giraffes in captivity, twenty-six zebras and an equal number of camels and dromodaries, seven herds of elephants, two rhinoceroses and the largest hippopotamus in captivity will be seen In the huge menagerie tent, where 1,009 rare wild animals pace to and fro in comfortable cages and dens. Ringling Bros. and. Barnum & Bailey combined circus is transported on four long trains of doublelength railroad cars. Thirty separate tents comprise this nomadic canvas city. Performances will be given at 2 and 8 p. m., door opening an hour earlier.

BASS LAKE TRIP IS URGED FOR WEEK-END 115-Mile Jannt Is Suggested by Hoosier Motor Club. Motor trip to Bass Lake is suggested as a week-end tour by the travel department of the Hoosier Motor Club. Bass Lake, the third largest in Indiana, is regarded by fishermen as one of the best spots in the state for number and size of its fish. Camp Gridley for boys is located cm the sputh shore of the lake. 1 Route suggested by the club is west on Thirty-eighth street to Michigan road, No. 29, north to Logansport and through Winamac to Bass Lake. The road is paved the entire route and the distance is 115 miles.
