Quirk, editor, charging her character was injured through an article which asserted she had kept knowledge of her daughter's last illness from Ricardo Cortez, her son-in-law, until after the actress died. Many prominent screen stars testified during the week-long trial. Quirk, in his own defense, denied that he had maliciously libeled Mrs. Rubens. The jury, composed of six men and six women, was divided evenly on a verdict, a poll disclosed upon its discharge. BRING ROBBER SUSPECT Former City Man on Way Here to Face Grand Larceny Charge.
