BOARD GOES TO COURT IN 'JUNK TARO' BATTLE Park Commissioners Seek Ruling to Block Action of Iron Dealer. Feud between Samuel M. Goldsmith, Iron and supply dealer, and citizens in the vicinity, of Neal and West Washington streets, in which the board of park commissioners assumed the role of arbiter, resulted m legal action today when suit was filed to prevent Goldsmith from erecting a building at the west side location. H. Nathan Swaim, attorney for the park commissioners, was instructed to file the suit after Goldsmith refused to abide by the board’s ruling. A citizens’ committee claimed that the proposed building for which excavation has started, will be used as a junk yard instead of a plumbers’ supply establishment. Right of the board to restrain the construction was claimed through the fact that the site is within 500 feet of Indianola Park. The park board in its meeting Thursday granted permission to the Indiana board of agriculture to lease a site on Fall Creek boulevard north of Thirty-eighth street for the erection of a decorative soft drink stand. A 51.400 contract for the drilling of a well at Garfield park was awarded to Charles Krauss & Son, Inc. Bids on a pump for the well wer? rejected by the board when it was decided that larger equipment would be needed. New bids will be received Thursday at the next meeting of the board.
