DAVILA. CHILE'S REVOLT CHIEF. MAY QUIT POST Strife Follows Seizure of Government Reins by Bold Coup. BV JOHN VIDAL Pre Staff Cerr*,pendent SANTIAGO. Chile, June 7. Carlos Davila, head of Chile's three-day-old Socialist government, may resign, it was reported today, because of army and navy dissatisfaction with his new regime, civilian demonstrations, and quarreling Bmong government leaders. An important section of the army was not in sympathy with the new government. Generals Indalecio Tellez. Carlos Vergara Montero, Carlos Raez and Manuel Otero applied for retirement. The government ordered important changes in the naval command, naming Admiral Chapusseaux chief of staff and giving Admiral Spoerer eight hours to hand over command of the Valparaiso station to Admiral Luis Munoz. Disagreement, which caused reports that Davila would resign, arose over the method and extent of instituting a Roclialist program, and appeared likely to center on ■ proposals to dissolve religious orders. The government, denied that a counter-revolt had started in the Davy. Muniz Morgado. president of the Radical-Socialist party, was expected to become the head of the Junta administration, if Davila resigned. AWARDED LEGION POST Paul R. BY W. E. M KENNEY Secretary, American Bride* I-**xne ANOTHER member of the national women's auction championship team of four is Mrs. H, J. White. Mrs. White is an aggressive and daring player, always willing to take a long chance to secure top on a board. Ordinarily one might not seriously object to being squeezed, but in the following hand, Mrs. White certainly made the West player squirm as she applied what is known in bridge as the triplg squeeze.

I remember that in tournament play, it is necessary to play the hand for all the tricks possible. The Play East selected the ace of hearts for his opening lead and when West played the six he continued with a heart. Dummy won the trick with the king, declarer discarding a small club. Three rounds of spades were taken, Mrs. White in the North winning the third spade with the ace. West following with one spade and discarding the eight and deuce of clubs. Declarer thsn led the queen of spades, discarding a diamond from dummy. West followed with a diamond. Then ten of spades was next played and a club discarded from dummy. West discarded the jack of hearts and now Mrs. White applied her triple squeeze by leading the eight of .spades and discarding the seven of diamonds from dummy. West is squeezed in all three suits. If he discards the queen of hearts, dummy's ten will be good. He holds the quean, jack and five of diamonds—if the five of diamonds is discarded, then the third diamond in Mrs. White's hand will be good. If he discards the jack of clubs from his king-jack, Mrs. White’s ace and ten of clubs in 'lummy will be good. The triple squeeze has enabled her to make a small slam, but as
