West. 57, Lorraine hotel, committed suicide by shooting early Sunday while on duty as a watchman at the building of the American Paper Stock Company. 340 West Market street. He shot himself in the head. His revolver and a flashlight were found near the body. Dr. E. R. Wilson, deputy coroner, said West had attempted suicide by shooting previously, firing several shots, one of which caused a slight wound on his face.

STEVE COUNSEL TRY TO FORCE i COURT ACTION File Motion for Advance of Corarr Nobis Plea on Docket. Effort to get action from the supreme court on the coram nobis petition on behalf of D. C. Stephenson was made today by attorneys for the one-time klan dragon. A motion to advance the case on i the supreme court docket was filed ■ with Fred Pickett, supreme court i clerk, by B. C. Jenkins. Gary. The firm of Jenkins, Parker & Brown, with Clarence Darrow as an associate, are presccuting the case. The motion shows that the petition for writ of error coram nobis has been pending in the high court since May, 1930. In the interim the supreme court sustained the murder verdict of the Hamilton cir-

They failed to act on the coram nobis petition, which, if ruled upon favorably, would permit the prisoner to introduce evidence to attempt proof of his claim that he is the victim of a "frameup.” The coram r.obis petition has been termed "frivolous ’ in s. reply brief opposing it filed by Attorney-Gen-eral James M. Ogden. Accompanying the motion filed today is a statement to counsel, written by Stephenson, attacking Ogden's stand and contending that not only Miss Madge Oberholtzer. but another girl was murdered in an effort to frame him. Stephenson was sentenced for the death of Miss Oberholtzer. Another document accompanying the motion is a decision of the federal district court in Pennsylvania in which the criminal element of the Ku-Klux Klan was held to be be “murderers’’ and “framers.’’ Attention to this decision is called
