STORM DELAYS AIR HUNT FOR 2 SCIENTISTS One Plane Forced to Land on Glacier During Search | of Mt. McKinley. By Vmil'il Prr FAIRBANKS. Alaska, May 20 A fierce spring blizzard that blotted out the mountain landscape today halted temporarily the aerial rescue | of two scientists, one marooned, the j other missing, on the icy slope of I Mt. McKinley. Two of the three Alaskan airways pilots in the relief expedition reported by radio that the storm had forced them to land on Muldrow ’ glacier, where two members of the group studying the cosmic ray met ! death. The planes are hunting Nicholas Spadeveccikia, New York scientist, missing more than a week in the desolate area, and Percy T. Olton Jr , who remained on the mountain aide to direct relief efforts. Pilot S. E. Robbins, a veteran of the Arctic, reported by radio, three hours after he had been expected back here, that the storm had forced him to land on the glacier before he had been able to reach Olton's base cave. A few hours previously. Joe Crosson, chief pilot of the airways, radioed he had abandoned the hunt for Spadcvecckla temporarily until weather conditions improved. Pilot Jerry Jones, en route here after flying the mail to Nome, hoped to join his companions in a flight over the mountain area today. Jones j had succeeded previously in rescuing E. P.
