717 Given Kindergarten Health Ribbons

Health ribbon awards were made today to 717 children In kindergarten schools of the city, lor maintaining a given health standard throughout the school term which Hosed Wednesday. The awards *’ere made in connection with a child health program at Brookside community house. Os the winners, 584 received blue ribbons, the highest award, fc'hile 133 children received the second award, red ribbons. Kindergartens were established in Indianapolis fifty years ago, and for forty-five years were directed by the lade Mrs. Eliza A. Blaker. Director for the last five years has been Miss Grace L. Brown. Outstanding school during the term just closed was the Ketcham kindergarten, 66.1 per cent of the total enrollment having won blue ribbons. Brightwood school was second with a percentage of 65.
